Shooting downhill at a novelty event

What is your SCA name?
Capitaine Angele Marie de Savigny, but usually just called Angel. And sometimes the Angel of Death.

How long have you been involved in the SCA?
I went to my first Canterbury Faire in 1998, and authorised as a combat archer then (we were part of Caid back then).

Which group are you part of?
While I live in the Shire of Darton in the Crescent Isles, you will often find me at Canterbury Faire in Southron Gaard, or St Sebastian’s in Cluain, at Rowany Festival, or Great Northern War.

When were you elevated to the Lochac Company of Archers?
I was elevated by Felix and Eva on the warfield at Rowany Festival in 2013, and proclaimed “The Angel of Death”.

Capitaine Angele is also a Court Baroness, and was Deputy Earl Marshal for Archery from 2014-2018.

What’s your specialty?
I shoot people in the face.  I love war. I also travel a lot, so I have set up my armour so that I can easily get it in my suitcase with room for clothes. I wrote an article about it.

What’s your favourite event or competition?
I love war.  I’m also a big fan of novelty shoots and clout shooting – anything that’s about just having to put an arrow where it needs to be, even if you don’t know how far away it is.  I tend to find shooting at a round target face at a known distance a bit boring!
